General Daniel "Chappie" James, Jr. Chapter
Representing Central Florida
The General Daniel "Chappie" James, Jr. Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., proudly represents the Central Florida region - from Gulf Coast (Tampa) to the Space Coast (Cape Canaveral), our region is a diverse area with a wide variety of dynamic communities; representing active duty military, veterans, defense industry professionals, the hospitality industry, academia and many other sectors.
Our Chapter was originally chartered in November 1980 as the Greater Florida Chapter of TAI, with fourteen charter members. The Chapter later petitioned for a name change to honor General Daniel "Chappie" James, Jr., a native of Pensacola Florida and America's first Black Four-Star General. The name change petition was approved the National TAI office on January 18, 1985.
